Is it possible to get a job at a hotel in hawaii from out of state?.

yo! asked:

So I’m wondering if I here in Florida can get a job in hawaii for like the season and work there for a given amount of time then come back? And is there any that may provide housing? If anyone knows any of this information let me know! Thanks!

Anything is possible, but I think this would be difficult. If you work in a chain (Hilton, Sheraton, etc) it might be easier to transfer back & forth. Just guessing on that.

None provide housing unless you are at the corporate/executive level.

If you already with that chain or hotel, you can probably get a discount or employee rate.

I haven’t heard of anyone getting a job long distance. You pretty much have to show up for the interview, fill out all the paperwork, etc., before they will hire you.

Anything is possible. However, since tourism is down here in Hawaii right now due to the airline situation and the rising fuel costs, there are many businesses that are laying off people in order to cut expenses.

If you’re looking for short term employment, it might be best for you to grab a job at a hotel chain like Sheraton, Hyatt, Westin, or W and then transfer here for the summer.

As far as housing goes, you’re on your own to find yourself a place to live. There are very few employers that will provide you with housing. Finding a place to live isn’t going to be cheap though so be prepared for the average $1800/month for a studio rental rates.

    Hope that helps you……good luck!
