In the states of Hawaii, Washington, and California, do you have to disclose if you’ve been fired?

amberlani96789 asked:

I had one employer tell me that I wasn’t required to disclose this information and one who told me I did.

You don’t have to anywhere as far as I know. You may want to, because potential employers may contact past employers.

You don’t have to tell them anything you don’t want to. I wouldn’t use the company that fired me as a reference. I doubt they can find out if you had been fired, just leave that job off your list of employers, pretend like it never happened and they will never know. Afterall, you are wanting to get another job aren’t you?

I don’t think it’s legal for any application, in any state, to ask that question.

All states have a way to ***** you, go to federal rights/employee rights to get justice
